The NFL Picker Wheel is a free random NFL team picker. It loads all 32 NFL teams, each slice shaded in the team's color, and lands on one at random when you spin. Filter it to the AFC or NFC or to one of the eight divisions, edit the list by hand, and use elimination mode for drafts and picks without repeats.
It runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is no account to create and nothing to download.
What Is the NFL Picker Wheel?
It is a spinning wheel preloaded with every NFL team that picks one fairly at random. Think of it as a neutral referee for any decision that comes down to choosing a team.
Slices show team names, and with Use team colours ticked each slice uses that club's primary color. The wheel does not use logos. Several teams share dark navy, so untick Use team colours if you want the standard, higher-contrast WheelPlay palette.
How to Use the Random NFL Team Picker
Choose your filters, check the list, then spin. The whole thing takes a few seconds and needs no account.
- Leave Conference on All teams for all 32, or pick AFC or NFC. Use Division to focus on one division.
- Check the entries box. Each line is one team, and you can delete or add lines freely.
- Spin by clicking the wheel, pressing the SPIN button, or pressing Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac). On a phone, a floating SPIN button appears when you scroll the wheel out of view.
- Read the result in the pop-up. From there you can Spin again, Remove from wheel, Copy the result, or share it to WhatsApp, X or Facebook.
Tip: to settle a head-to-head argument, delete every line except the two teams in question and spin.
Filter by Conference and Division
The Conference and Division menus limit the wheel to part of the league. The NFL has 16 teams in the AFC and 16 in the NFC, split into eight divisions of four teams.
AFC divisions
- AFC East: Buffalo, Miami, New England, New York Jets
- AFC North: Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh
- AFC South: Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Tennessee
- AFC West: Denver, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles Chargers
NFC divisions
- NFC East: Dallas, New York Giants, Philadelphia, Washington
- NFC North: Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Minnesota
- NFC South: Atlanta, Carolina, New Orleans, Tampa Bay
- NFC West: Arizona, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco, Seattle
The two filters stay in sync: choosing a division also selects its conference, and switching conference clears a division from the other side, so the wheel is never empty. A four-team division wheel is handy for picking which rivalry game to watch.
Spin Modes: Normal, Elimination and Accumulation
The Spin mode setting, in the Settings tab, decides what happens to a team after it wins. Pick the mode before you start a session.
Normal
Winners stay on the wheel, so the same team can come up twice in a row. Use it for one-off picks.
Elimination
Each winner is removed, so no team is picked twice. It is the right mode for any game where each team can only be used once, and for building a random draft order. You can also remove a single winner by hand with Remove from wheel in the result pop-up.
Accumulation
Winners stay on, and the Results tab keeps score with a leaderboard of wins. Use it for a season-long gag, such as spinning once per game day and crowning whichever team the wheel picked most often.
Whatever the mode, the Results tab lists every spin in order. Copy results puts the list on your clipboard and Clear results starts fresh.
Ways to Use the NFL Team Wheel
The wheel is built for football decisions that should be random and seen to be random.
Madden franchise mode
Spin for the team you will rebuild in a Madden franchise, or give every player in a couch tournament a random team. Filter to one division if you want a smaller, rivalry-heavy list.
Game-day parties and watch parties
Assign each guest a team to cheer for during a watch party, or switch to Elimination so every friend at a game-day party gets a different team.
Fantasy football draft order
Replace the teams with your league members' names, keep Elimination on, and spin until the order is complete. Copy results from the Results tab and paste it into the league chat.
Game-day parties and trivia
Assign each guest a team to cheer for, decide who brings which snack, or spin a team and ask a trivia question about its city or division.
Is the NFL Wheel Fair?
Yes. In Normal mode every team on the wheel has exactly the same chance, unless you add weights yourself.
The result is chosen with your browser's crypto.getRandomValues, a cryptographically secure random number source, before the animation starts. The spin then lands on that pre-chosen slice, so the speed of your click, the spin length and the wheel's starting position have no effect on who wins.
Everything runs in your browser. Your list, saved wheels and results history are stored on your device and nothing is uploaded.
Customizing, Saving and Sharing Your Wheel
Edit the list by hand
The entries box holds one team per line. Delete a line to drop a team, type a new line to add one, or use Shuffle and Sort A–Z to reorder. Import .txt/.csv loads a list from a file, Clear empties the box, and Reset brings back the default list. Set your filters first, because changing a filter rebuilds the list.
Give some entries a better chance
Turn on Weights in the Settings tab, then put a number from 1 to 10 and a dot in front of a line. Writing "3.Green Bay Packers" gives that team three times the chance of a plain entry. Leave weights off when everyone expects an even draw.
Rename the result and set the pace
Result title changes the heading in the result pop-up, and Spin length sets how long the wheel turns, from 1 to 15 seconds. Confetti and sound can be switched on or off.
Save, share and embed
Save wheel keeps your list under My saved wheels in this browser. The share-link icon copies a URL that contains your entries and filters, so friends open the exact same wheel. The embed icon copies an iframe code for your own site or blog, and full screen hides the side panel for a TV or projector.
