Less scrolling, more watching
Choosing a film can take longer than watching the trailer. This wheel narrows the decision with one spin: it picks a genre or theme from 24 options, such as comedy, heist film, nature documentary or a black-and-white classic. You then choose a title within that category, which is far easier than choosing from everything.
Two ways to use it
Genre wheel
Use the list as it is. Spin, get a genre, then pick a film you all fancy within it. Good for exploring categories you rarely watch.
Watchlist wheel
Clear the list and type in actual film titles from your watchlist. Spin and press play. Save it, and remove each title once you have watched it, or use Elimination mode to do that automatically.
Fair picks for families and friends
- Each person adds one or two titles, so everyone has a stake.
- Use weights, like 2.Animated film, to favour what younger viewers enjoy.
- Allow one veto per evening.
- Keep Accumulation mode on to see which genre comes up most over a season.
Share the wheel link before the evening so everyone can add ideas, or embed it on a film club page. Always check the age rating before watching with children.
Make it a tradition
A regular movie night is easier to keep when the choosing is quick and fun. Pick a night of the week, let a different person spin each time, and keep a list of what you have watched in the Results tab. After a few months you will have a history of films, a few new favourites and probably a genre or two you never expected to enjoy.
For themed evenings, build a separate wheel: holiday films, animated classics or films set in space. Save each one so it is ready when the theme comes round again, and add snacks or a dress-up idea to match the film.
Check the running time before you press play on a school night.
