Dinner ideas without the scrolling
Most people cook the same handful of meals on repeat, then run out of ideas by Wednesday. This wheel starts with 26 realistic home-cooked dinners: quick ones like pesto pasta and fried rice, slower ones like shepherd's pie and roast chicken, and meat-free options such as chickpea stew and shakshuka.
Spin once and you have a plan. If the result does not work tonight, spin again or remove it from the wheel.
Plan the week in seven spins
Open Settings and choose Elimination mode. Each dinner the wheel picks is removed, so seven spins give you seven different meals. Write them down, build a shopping list from them and you are done for the week.
- Add your family's own staples so the plan feels familiar.
- Delete meals that need equipment you do not have.
- Use weights like 2.Pasta bake for dishes everyone likes.
Getting the family involved
Children are often happier to eat a meal they "chose". Let them press SPIN, or give each person two slices with their favourite dinners and let the wheel decide whose turn it is. Accumulation mode can keep a running tally so you can see which meals come up most.
Keep it handy
Save the wheel on your device and it is waiting next time someone asks what's for dinner. You can also embed it on a family blog or share it with a housemate, and everyone sees exactly the same list.
A tip for busy weeks: give quick meals a higher weight on work nights. Writing 3.Fried rice or 3.Pesto pasta makes the fast dinners come up more often, while slower dishes like roast chicken keep a weight of 1 and turn up now and then, perhaps on a Sunday. If someone in the house has a dietary need, remove anything that does not suit them before you spin, so every result is a meal the whole table can share.
Leftovers can always become a slice too.
